A designer cross between a shih tzu and a Pekingese, the Shinese is a tiny fluffy dog that makes an excellent pet for those who enjoy a constant companion. This playful dog weighs less than 16 pounds and stands no more than 13 inches tall. Usually, they have long hair with a short muzzle and small round face. The coat ranges in color from black to white and varying shades of tan and brown. Because the fur is usually dense and wavy, it’s important to brush your puppy daily to prevent tangles in the fur.
Like all crossbreeds, the Shinese inherits his personality from both of his parents. They’re generally loving dogs that are extremely loyal to their human companion. Extremely bright, the Shinese is easy to train, especially when positive reinforcement is used. The Shinese hates being alone and may suffer severe bouts of depression if placed in a crate all day. These dogs are also protective of their families and will bark to warn of guests and intruders. This hybrid is sensitive to the heat, so they thrive best indoors, and they tend to be inactive during the warmer months.
